According to the World Health Organization, Health is a state of a complete physical, mental, and social

wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

A student’s mental and physical health can impact their ability to participate fully in school. Administrators and school health personnel should have current and complete information on each student’s health status, along with any specific conditions which may interfere with the student’s ability to attend school and/ or attend to instructions. It is particularly important for schools to have this information prior to school entrance for students with medical concerns, fragile medical conditions, or social-emotional issues that require routine or emergent care by school personnel.
